In spring 2026, Youth Theatre Helsinki offers spring acting classes for kids and teens aged 10-17, running January through May.

Acting Classes for kids and teens

Age 10-17

January – May 2026

In spring 2026, Youth Theatre Helsinki will begin developing a brand-new theatre production together with our young performers. Throughout the spring, participants in our acting classes for kids will explore physical theatre, improvisation, character creation and ensemble work, building towards a public sharing or performance at the end of the season.

Our aim is to guide the group through a full creative process — from the first ideas to the stage. The production will be devised collaboratively, meaning the young actors help shape the story, characters and movement.

WEEKLY REHEARSAL CLASSES AGE 10-17
January – May 2026

Participants can choose one or both weekly sessions:

• Mondays 17:15–19:15

• Wednesdays 17:15–19:15

Both groups will contribute to the creation of the spring production in different ways. Students who attend both sessions will simply get a deeper, more intensive experience — but it is not required.

WHAT THE SPRING PRODUCTION OFFERS

• Hands-on experience in creating an original performance

• Professional guidance in acting, physical theatre and devising

• A supportive and creative environment

• Development of confidence, collaboration and expression

• A final showing for family and friends (format depending on group size and resources)

WHO CAN JOIN
The spring project is open to young people aged 10–17 who are curious, motivated, and ready to explore theatre through play, movement and imagination. No previous experience is needed — beginners and experienced actors are equally welcome.

Language
Classes are held in English with support in Finnish and Swedish

No previous theatre experience is required.
