About Youth Theatre Helsinki
Youth Theatre Helsinki began in spring 2025 with a simple idea: to create a space where children and young people could explore theatre through play, imagination, and collaboration.
What started as a small community initiative quickly grew into our first Theatre Workshops in July 2025, bringing together young people curious about performance, storytelling, and creative expression.
All our work is conducted in English, welcoming children and teens from international and multilingual backgrounds.
Alongside our weekly classes, we also lead theatre workshops for school groups and other educational settings, sharing our approach with a wide range of young participants.
As the community around Youth Theatre Helsinki has grown, so has our programme. Today, we continue to offer a supportive and playful environment where young people can develop theatre skills, build confidence, and discover the joy of creating together — both on and off the stage.

Daniel McMullen
Daniel McMullen (he/him) is a Helsinki based actor and theatre maker with a passion for creativity, connection, and growth. With years of training both in the US and Europe, his journey in the performing arts has been fueled by a love for storytelling and the transformative power of theatre. Daniel has been facilitating acting, drama, and improv workshops for children from kindergarten to high school all around Helsinki. His goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where kids can express themselves, connect with others, and explore the boundless possibilities of their imaginations. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys walking in the forest with his Saint Bernard and cooking for his family.
Sarah Puukka
Sarah Puukka (she/her) is an actor and theatre facilitator based in Helsinki. She has trained in physical theatre, improvisation and the Meisner technique through various workshops across Europe. Sarah has many years of experience in both performing and creating theatre, and has a special passion for helping young people express themselves through movement, voice and play. She believes in meeting every child where they are, while gently challenging them to grow. Her workshops are rooted in joy, presence and curiosity — and often include lots of laughter. When she’s not in the rehearsal room, Sarah loves running in nature and jamming with friends on her violin.
